Job Title: Account Manager

Heartland Communications Consultants (HCC) is seeking an account manager who will be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned client accounts. At a minimum, this includes developing and prioritizing creative projects; drafting press materials and managing all activities and events associated with media engagement; writing content for print, web and social media projects; oversight of client projects/timelines/deliverables with internal creative and digital teams; managing external vendors such as printers, advertising sources, etc.; facilitating internal and external communications; managing deadlines; and budget forecasting. Strong writing skills are required to succeed in this position.

Account Manager Responsibilities

  • Serve as the link between clients and creative & digital teams.
  • Responsible for managing several projects at one time while exceeding client expectations.
  • Write content for websites, print pieces, social media, press releases, etc.
  • Provide valuable marketing communications consultation to clients.
  • Meet with clients often to discuss current and future projects and present creative work.
  • Develop successful marketing communications and public relations strategies for clients.
  • Define and manage client budgets and ensure adherence to their brand guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional client service that sets HCC apart from others.
  • Follow leads for new business and close new contracts.

  • A four-year degree in advertising, business, marketing, public relations or a related degree.
  • Three or more years of experience in marketing, public relations or advertising preferred.

This includes creating visually appealing sites that meet client objectives with user-friendly design and clear navigation. Creativity and strong SEO and social media skills are required to succeed in this position.

Web Designer/Developer Responsibilities:

  • Authority and scope to apply your creativity and expertise to solve technical problems.
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • The position requires regular communication with colleagues.
  • Deep expertise and hands-on experience with WordPress web applications and programming languages such as HTML and CSS. Working knowledge and understanding of JavaScript and PHP.
  • Solid understanding of hosting protocols, SSL, FTP, DNS, etc.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and applications.
  • In-depth and evolving knowledge of keyword research, SEO copywriting and the behaviors of search engines.
  • Experience developing, implementing and managing social media content and advertising campaigns. Knowledge of the latest social media best practices and technologies.
